THOMAS FITZGERALD MCCARTHY ESQ.

Thomas Fitzgerald McCarthy (he/him) is a queer attorney, and he strives to improve the lives of LGBTQ+ and other marginalized folks. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from SUNY Geneseo in the Honors Program. He was also inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. As an undergraduate, he was the president of the Pride Alliance and worked on campus initiatives to improve the lives of LGBTQ+ students, including winning a $5,000 grant to work on his projects. Thomas has taught LGBTQ+ awareness training programs to hundreds of college and community members.

Thomas chose to go to law school at the Drexel Kline School of Law to become a direct advocate for oppressed people.  He worked in the Legal Services division of the Mazzoni Center, working on  legal name changes and assisting with issues such as employment discrimination for low-income LGBTQ+ individuals. Thomas graduated Drexel Kline School of Law in May 2020 and became a licensed attorney in January 2021. Prior to starting his practice, Thomas was a Law Clerk for the Honorable Matthew D. Carrafiello in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Orphans' Court.

Thomas lives in West Philadelphia with his cat, Almond. He enjoys bicycling, hiking, camping, and gardening.
